Only 5% of Companies Worldwide Blog

A new report from Lewis PR suggests that only 5% of companies worldwide have a blog. In fact, the survey came back with such low adoption rates that a larger scale research project was scrapped.

Unlimited Yahoo!

Yahoo! Mail is fast approaching its 10th birthday and have announced that to celebrate, users will get unlimited email storage from May.

Starting off with only 4MB of email storage 10 years ago, Yahoo’s announcement really shows how times have changed; today, you would fill that up with a single picture! But the new unlimited storage means that you don’t have to worry about getting rid of old messages and keeping everything you need in your email account.

Internet Advertising Set to Break £2bn Barrier

New media sales got a boost today with the news that UK internet advertising revenue is set to pass £2bn for 2006, up from the 2005 figure of £1.4bn.

The Internet Advertising Bureau’s official announcement is expected tomorrow, and while they refused to comment prior to the report release, industry sources said revenues would exceed £2bn as a result of growth in both search and display formats.

NBC & News Corp to Rival YouTube

News Corp. and NBC Universal have announced that they are to launch an online video sitew stocked with TV programmes, films, and clips that is set to rival YouTube.

According to the press release detailing the venture, News Corp and NBC will launch “the largest Internet video distribution network ever assembled with the most sought-after content from television and film.”

Google Unveils Plus Box

Google has launched another product, Plus Box, a new search feature that allows you to see more information about individual search results, giving additional rich data in an expandable plus box icon.

Only a few plus box results are available at the moment – on stock information and maps – but Google says that it is working hard to expand its availability.

Yahoo! Fights Click Fraud with New Appointment

Yahoo! is stepping up its fight against click fraud as it announces that between 12 and 15% of clicks coming through Yahoo! PPC ads are identified as invalid and are removed from advertiser’s bills.
