Google Launches Patent Search

Google has launched a patent search site in the US which will allow users to perform full text searches of patents filed from 1790 through the middle of 2006, with regular updates adding new patents.

Using the same technology as Google Book Search, Google Patents lets users search by various criteria such as patent number, inventor and filing date.
