Google Phone Confirmed

According to Isabel Aguilera, General Director of Google Spain, the company is working on the development of a mobile handset with partners, saying that; “Our engineers have dedicated part of their time to investigating a mobile phone to access information.”
It seems that this might not be the rival to iPhone that rumours were talking up. Aguilera indicates that the company has investigated a mobile phone to “access information”, as well as researching “the way to extend the information society to less developed economies.”
So it seems that Google may not be rivalling the iPhone just yet. But with rumours abound that either Orange or Samsung are involved, this is no mini project.
Do you think that Google is spreading itself a bit then with multiple takeovers, new products etc? Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer seems to think so, launching an attack on Google in which he called their recent growth as, “insane in my opinion.” Time will tell.
