Google to Show Link Anchor Text Info

March 19th, 2007 by pamela

Although you’ve been able to see the list of words that are commonly used in the anchor text to your site, Google has announced that they have enhanced this information to give you a clearer picture of inbound links.

Google’s information will now show the complete phrases used to link to your site, not just the common words. As anchor text influences the queries your site ranks for so much, this information is invaluable.

To see the phrases used to link to your website log into Google’s webmaster tools, access your site, then visit Statistics > Page analysis. You can then view this data on screen or download it as a CSV file.
