Online Spending Slows says Research

March 8th, 2007 by pamela

According to research posted at InternetRetailing.net consumer spending is slowing, although technology goods continue to drive revenue and growth in durable goods.

Market research company GfK’s analysis of online February sales showed a 62% growth in the sales of major domestic appliances, and a 76% growth in IT product sales.

“While continued consumer interest in high technology items such as Wireless PCs and Flat Panel TVs continues to drive growth in consumer durables, three interest rate rises in seven months is cooling spending on some high ticket price areas, “ said James Randall, Commercial Director of GfK.
