Pay-Per-Action Ads Launched by Google

March 21st, 2007 by pamela

Google has announced a new Pay–Per-Action advertising test for Google AdWords that will allow advertisers to pay only when a predetermined action has been completed on their site.

Giving the advertisers the option of paying only when an action - purchasing a product, signing up to a newsletter etc - gives advertisers more freedom to control budgets and advertising costs more effectively says Google.

This innovation is designed by Google to complement existing PPC services, but will only be shown on Google AdSense™ for content sites, the publishers of which will have the choice of whether to serve these ads or not.

Text or image ads are included in the Pay-Per-Action offer in addition to Google’s new text link ad format, and while it is only available to US advertisers at present, watch this space as what’s over there invariably ends up over here if successful.
