Netimperative is reporting on Jakob Nielsen’s (co-founder of the Nielsen Norman Group) new look at web usability issues. Usability guru Nielsen offers practical advice on how websites can increase sales and customer loyalty by employing usability tips, labeling them as “..the top things you can do to make more money.”

Looking at topics such as email newsletters, product differentiation and comparisons, simplified text, search and user testing, Nielsen highlights many of the points which ambergreen is always trying to convey to clients; that adding value is the best way to drive sales and grow customer loyalty.

Nielsen highlights the fact that many of the techniques he describes are inexpensive, yet the ROI can be impressive. When you consider that 67% of online shoppers have left a website because the retailer did not provide enough product information, ensuring that your website gives users the information it should, makes the shopping process easy and provides easy to manage customer support, it is clear that usability is one area that deserves attention from in-house teams.
