Web users Selfish and Ruthless

May 30th, 2008 by anurag

Internet users are increasingly selfish and ruthless as they search the web, a leading analyst has claimed. Nielsen Online’s founder, Jacob Nielsen, has claimed they spend less time on sites and are suspicious of any attempt to keep them tied to one page. He told the BBC when users go online they know what they want and how to find it. This was rarely understood by website owners he said, who believe “that their site is interesting and special and people will be happy about what they are throwing at them”. His firm’s annual internet user report said web designs have become better “but also users have become accustomed to that interactive environment”. “People want sites to get to the point, they have very little patience,” Mr Nielsen added.
