Information Architecture

Information architecture is the science of organising websites and web applications to provide enhanced usability and readability and is core to  every development project. The basis of a strong user experience is a well structured, clear and navigable website that is not only easy to use but intuitive to use. A pragmatic approach to Information Architecture yields a range of benefits including websites that are user friendly, information that is easier to find, applications that meet your business requirements, higher customer satisfaction, returning visitors and above all better sales conversions.

We take a holistic approach to Information Architecture and include a range of disciplines and techniques. It includes the use of wireframes to structure the visual user experience, qualifying this against the requirements of the project. A User Centric Design process which covers all aspects of the users interaction with a website, interface, or web application. Also included to varying degrees is usability testing and validation to ensure that the outputs meet the expectations of the user audiences.

As we move towards a world of semantic web understanding the information and how we interact with it will become an essential prerequisite to developing effective online solutions. From the initial research, planning and analysis through to the validation and benchmarking, developing an effective Information Architecture map can ensure the solutions effectiveness in context to how and how will interact with it.
