Site Migration

The aim of the migration process is to minimise the potential traffic loss caused by moving the sites to a newer version. Ambergreen will provide best practice on how to migrate the websites correctly, ensuring that there is minimal loss of traffic and positions are maintained after the switch over.

After the initial research and benchmarking phase the migration process takes place via the following steps:

> Identify key pages

> Find equivalents

> Implement Redirects

> QA

Practices to monitor the new site are then implemented to evaluate how effective the migration process has been.

The overall benefit of a successful migration will be the safeguarding of traffic levels; in fact it can often be the case that a successful migration and re-design will lead to a potential increase in traffic and link equity.
